My name is Arjun Jindam and I work at Cactus Communications as an Engineering manager. I spend most of my time improving performance, processes and people across engineering at Editage, but other than that, I manage platform enginering, production support and a few
You have landed here for one of the following reasons
- We work together, or have worked together in the past
- We have a scheduled interview soon
- You know me outside of work and are curious
- You're an internet stranger just here to read stuff
- You're a bot
Regardless of your reason to visit, I wish to give you a warm welcome to my internet homepage. Take this document as a quick way of introducing myself to you, so that when we do meet, you have some context and your questions are sophisticated. I do not think this is weird, but if you do, you can absolutely skip reading this and not see any difference in the quality of the relationship we share.
Whereabouts
I currently live in Bangalore, and am known to keep moving houses across India. I've lived in Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Pune, Goa and a bunch of other places. I love slow travel, and moving houses to different corners of the country enables me to do that with ease. I'm married to a designer who I met in 2016 who shares the same passion for travel, food and music with me. We did a roadtrip + sabbatical together in 2016 and decided to get married to do more of it. More on that story later.

Hobbies
I listen to a lot of music, drive to most of the places I go to and I can cook a handful of recipes that I have come to love from different parts of the world. Apart from this I tend to my garden a fair bit, it's something I have picked up very recently. And I also like to build odd things that add some value to my life.

Life
There are three core principles that I live my life with, and I think it's worth sharing so that you have a background about why I will prioritise certain things over the other.
Learn more. Growth often comes from learning. And learing is something that one should keep doing all their life. Learning just does not mean read a book and become knowledgable. Neither does it mean to assert dominance with your know how of a certain topic. Learning could just simply be understanding the inner workings of day-to-day things.
Lose things in life. Remove as much as you can bear to remove from your life. Could be things, feelings, grudges or even a habit. Learn to remove things from your life so you can make space for something new to enter. You can call it chaos engineering in real life, but I tend to put an expiry date on things. If I cannot put a date, I will think of a condition. This allows me to create 'safety nets' as I call for failure and redundancy in life.
Do the things you promise yourself If you cannot accomplish what you promise yourself, you will never be able to deliver promises in the real world.
Getting in touch with me
I live my life like a monk, and don't always check my messages. But there's some structure to how I manage communication. Use phone calls and whatsapp for urgent attention. I will generally ignore forwards or messages that do not have any urgency. Slack/Email for work and informal long form communication. And instagram for any reading material if you wish for me to read.
