One of the stolen cassettes from my dad's workshop was Pandit Bhimsen Joshi's abhang collection, which got me hooked to his voice and his devotion to Lord Vitthal. In one of his songs, he says "majhe maher pandhari" which stuck with me for a very long time. Never did I imagine that it would one day take me on a solo trip 350 kms away from home to find out what he meant by the word "maher".
